Studio Anywhere 2006 | Portable Installation |
|
Following on from Cross Anywhere, Studio Anywhere aimed to solve the problem of limited studio space which students were facing within the university. Whilst addressing my personal concerns with regard to this it also provided a potentially marketable resource for other students in a similar position. Using a wallpaper pasting table and some other materials and tools I created a desk which could be folded up and packed away, thus allowing the artists to carry his studio with him and use it in different locations. The desk was fitted with a handle and wheels to make this easier and the legs of the desk folded neatly into the desktop itself. The desk also folded out so that it could be used in order to display work, photographs, notes, ideas and so forth at a vertical level in addition to the horizontal plane used for writing. This ‘lid’ which clasps shut also provides a good storage space for materials whilst the studio is in transit. Studio Anywhere uses lightweight materials and is therefore very easy to carry and convenient – the problem of limited studio space will never be an issue again!
